Shrove Tuesday

This morning, as Myrna and I wandered out for a semla (a delicious adjunct to local Shrove Tuesday observances), the sun was more or less out, and the snow came down in big soapy chunks. It was pretty and, immersed in the cavernous Rhythm & Sound record playing on my headphones, I gave the camera a rare opportunity to take a couple pictures without a blurry little girl in them. This is how our neighborhood looks these days (note that there's water somewhere beneath the snow in the first picture).

Great photos!

I'm jealous of the semla. Makes our local pancakes seem a little blasé by comparison.

I'll have to see if any of the Scandanavian bakeries in Seattle serve semla.

Happy Fat Tuesday!

Do you think you could send a little of that snow to Vancouver? There having trouble scaring up enough to keep the Olympics on track. Did you notice -- Dallas stole Vancouver's snow -- they got over a foot of it.

Great photos of winter. We have 'missed' that in Seattle this year.
